Just wondering if this can be done......

You may want to double check that. I drive a Dodge Ram 3500 truck with a 12' cube. The GVWR is 11,000 but I plated it for 10,000 thinking I could avoid the logs. I got pulled over by a Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement officer (Do NOT call them DOT)who made it clear that it did not matter what your plates said but what the manufacturer rated the vehicle. He even had me open my driver's door so he could read the sticker. Luckily I was not loaded and told him it was not a commercial vehicle. I checked out a Sprinter cube like yours and it's tagged GVWR was 10,200. I am currently keeping a log until I can figure out how to get this thing re-rated. My sticker is actually from Supreme Corp (the builder of the box) so I am hoping I get them to lower it to 10,000.
Not trying to tell you what to do but hoping to keep you from a possible conflict. If I had been loaded when I got stopped I would have been scr#$@d.
Anyone else have anything to add to this???

yea, something to think about.

I had a few trucks with boxes on them a long time ago. these were not cutaways or chassis but everyone of them were re-rated by the company that put the boxes on them, hence replacing the Ford/GM stickers on the door. the cutaways I bought all had ford stickers on them and Morgan and Pollock also replaced them becuase they siad they determined the GVW of the truck. to add to this, when i looked at GMC cube trucks recently, I didn't find any GM stickers anywhere only the body manufature's.
