Ok, i am a 23/m from SE Michigan looking to get into cargo van expediting. I have a perfect driving record and i already own a 2002 E-350 diesel cargo van with 48k miles on it. I am in the process getting a class B CDL. Besides business name, cargo insurance, etc... can anyone else offer suggestions as to the steps i should take and which companies would best for the cargo van type expediting. thanks
:)

Try the big companies.....Tri-State, Fed-ex, Panther II...and their recruiters will tell you if your van meets their size requirements. The companies will usually arrange for required insurance and deduct it from your settlements. You don't really need a business name, but that's up to you. Since you are in SE Michigan, Tri-State might be a good start since they are in Toledo area. I think they are taking on vans now, but don't think Fed-ex is.

HEY! GIVE CTX A CALL! I DON'T KNOW IF THEY CHARGE FOR THE USE OF THIER SATALITE SYSTEM OR NOT FOR NEW CONTRACTORS, SINCE I'VE BEEN WITH THEM THEY HAVE NOT!, AND THAT CAN SAVE YOU BIG BUCKS AT YEARS END.

BEING SAFE OUT THERE MATTERS MOST!

SHARP327 :) PS THEY'RE LOCATED IN S.E. MICH.
