Just stopped at The Sandbar Sub Shop Convenience Store & Gas Station, near Ottawa Kansas. It's island themed throughout and all the clerks--all of whom are female, young, and cute, but of whom none look remotely Polynesian or Caribbean--are wearing colorful Hawaiian shirts.

Waited my turn at the register, then said, with a dead serious face, "Haleakalā Ala Moana pakalolo, olu' olu..."

She just froze for a sec, then let her eyes look sort of sideways and back, then said softly, "You're in Kansas..."

Sitting in Bryson City NC. I am wondering if Knoxville TN is a good freight area? Never been there but it's only 47 miles from this nowhere city that I'm currently stuck in. Only been here since last night but I just can't see much freight coming from this deep into the Smokey Mountains.

Sitting in Bryson City NC. I am wondering if Knoxville TN is a good freight area? Never been there but it's only 47 miles from this nowhere city that I'm currently stuck in. Only been here since last night but I just can't see much freight coming from this deep into the Smokey Mountains.

Idk about Knoxville but NC can be surprising we've delivered and picked up in some very off the beaten path...seems we are mostly just passing through Knoxville so I have no clue as to it's freight hotness!

There is a place by Knoxville that used to ship a lot of freight for International Truck and Engine out of that area before they moved from NLM to Menlo Worldwide Logistics. There might still be loads out of Clinton Tennessee, but I don't know if your carrier can see them or not. Chattanooga is a good place to get loads going back to Michigan. Other than that I don't know what to tell you.
