You can scan it in the same way you do logs.

For us vanners that don't log, how is that done John? And on another note, it looks like fedex drivers can scan and send their customs ppwk through the qc. Any ideas on that? It would save a ton of aggravation, and possibly some $ savings on fax charges.

I am actually not sure if the process. I m sure some of the other guys can answer that. I would love for the customs option. We have pushed for that for a few years. I have yet to get all the players to get all of the pieces in place for it. But I am not done with it.

Thanks. It would be a great use of the resources we have in the truck. Faxing is a major PITA with not being received at other end, and such an obsolete technology.

When you connect the scanner use the drop down menu item "Miscellaneous". Scan one item, put what it is in the "Pro #" box and send it. You'll get an error message back, but the scan will go through.

Since mine is already in the computer as a PDF file, I just electronically sign it with Adobe and then e-mail it.

According to Briggs, the comments box can't be read at their end. That's why I used the Pro # box.

Had a problem with a fax not working the other week and found out the shipper can email it over if their set up for that, which they did. That sure was easy, wish I had known about that before. I seem to have misplaced it, I believe it was (expedite @ load1 .com)

I'd like to see a customs label in the scanner drop down menu or maybe one that goes directly to dispatch. I was told that the misc/other box goes to one box that is maintained by one person who only sorts that box when they get to it. Doesn't sound like a good place to leave customs related scans. Currently, I email to the "expedite" email address, if I get permission to. I was scolded once for using the address during days. Apparently the dayshift considers it a customer-use address. Scanning would be quicker than email.

Not if the shipper is doing it, one click and done. Caren (or how ever it's spelled) told me to do it, so I guess I got permission :p Any option in sending with the QC would be great. Must be a pain to sort through all that.

This is exactly what we are trying to get done. But having a hard time getting it accomplished. The expedite email address is really primarily for customers. They process thousands of emails a day and it is honestly somewhat overwhelming. We are actually looking at email management software. If this software works like we hope it may make this a decent option as we could have it look for the word customs in the subject line and route the email automatically but we aren't there yet. .

Really want to get the scanning option working. But that is a possibility.
