Many have a form letter requesting all information that can be legally disclosed to fax to each carrier you list on your app. Most will question any gaps in the timeline, if you decide to leave something out.

If I worked for a temp agency and was laid off before given another job, will that hurt my chances of getting a trucking job?

If everything else checks out, I don't see why it would. A red flag is a long period of unemployment, especially if one had been working as a driver - that looks suspicious. Short gaps are just part of looking for a job, usually.

I use an agency called foley services they do all my drug testing and background checks with your permission of course. the temp job will not affect you at all.mostly looking for abandoned equipment unauthorized movement, theft and the things that really matter. if you are a new cdl holder you should have a clean background.

If your an old Cdl holder you also should have a clean background check in my opinion!!!

I'm curious to know, how do trucking companies check new drivers employment history?
Most, at least the biggies go through DAC Report. Forget your shoe size? No problem. Check DAC. Can't remember what you ate for breakfast? DAC knows.

nobody wants drivers with a bunch of tickets and/or wrecks on their record, that is the main thing, gotta have a good driving record, and no criminal background either.
