Ken always beats me up! Just checked the actual temp is 56 going to be 77 today!

I should have asked Ken to bring a skid of Timmies coffee with him!

Man I wish I was down there..right now it's minus 2 and feels like minus 12 and it's starting to snow again...it'd almost make you believe winter is finally here!

yep, the break has been good. got alot of stuff done to complete the remodel. thats why we have taken so much off time. everything is looking good though. i will have to post some pictures of all we have done. quite a transformation. we did the inside over the last few years, a complete gutting, almost. we did the outside this late summer and fall. finished the inside of garage over the holidays. only thing left is a big patio and out door kitchen this spring sometime. house is maintenance free now on the outside. been a big project and a good little bit of money out of pocket but we are about 30,000 to the equity side so this 28,000 $ house has become a good investment. maybe better if the market comes back. now to get back out there and make some money so we can finish the project. we refuse to borrow to pay for it.

That's the way we look at things...since we moved here, we knocked out one wall and made the living room bigger, increased the size of the deck to about twice it's original size, completely redid the plumbing and electric throughout the house, installed new windows and a french door, and the biggest project of all...the kitchen is finally done and we don't owe a dime on it!!!! Lots of sweat equity helps keep the price down.. we're both getting pretty good at demolition...and drywalling and painting.*lol*

the kitchen is the most expensive room to remodel in our opinion. it cost almost as much to do as the rest of the rooms combined. we spend most of our time there when the kids are here so we spared no expense and did exactly what we wanted. no corners were cut. the kitchen has always been a gathering spot in our family. talking, cooking and eating everybody enjoying themselves. glad to hear we are not alone doing these things on our own. we have gotten pretty good at it to.

You are so right! I love my new kitchen, and we still have other things we want to do when we have the money..still dreaming about that big pool in the back yard and a new garage..etc...etc..etc..

but I need to go build a fire so you all have a nice day, good runs and good weather! :)

Hanging out at the local Panera. Have had enough time to get most of my blogs from vacation pre-written so I can just post as we go. Hoping that it picks up soon. This is not a very good start to the new year. :(
