I have At&t, since 2000.Still on their unlimited data and phone plan, $60.00 a month, and Unlimited on the laptop aircard, $60.00 a month for that also. That is why I am tolerating their dropped calls, and minimal 3 g aircard service. Other than that, it works awesome, for the most part.Their customer service is awesome.I think my last records show I spent over $32,000 with them so far, since 2000.....lol

I have a EVO 4G, kind of a dinosaur compared to some of the new phones. Only a year and a half old.

I got an Ipad2 from Santa, so I needed WiFi for it. I first tried a Verizon 4G connector, but my printer wouldn't connect to it. $50 per month.

I called Sprint, my provider for EVO, about the WiFi hotbot for $29.95 per month for 5 gig. I asked if I would be able to monitor it separately from my phones unlimited data. Was told yes. Got it turned on, everything connected.

Went to web to check on usage last week, couldn't find the separation. Showed almost 3 gig total. So I called customer service.

Apparently Sprint has an issue, a memo dated Nov 17 or 19 as read to me by the rep states that Sprint currently has no way of separating what the phone uses and what devices use thru the hotspot. So Sprint cannot charge for going over usage. The memo did go on to say they were working on it, but no date was given, except customers subscribing to hotspot would be notified when it happens.

So, at the moment, it is unlimited for $29.95. Where we live, we get 4G. The WiFi speeds are pretty good. Played with it on 3g, slower, but ok as long as your not downloading a movie from netflix.

When my phone was "rooted", I was able to do WiFi hotspot for free with a app from the market. Got tired of messing with the different ways to do updates, so "unrooted" the phone.

I'm thinking about the iPhone 4s since I'm eligible for an upgrade. Kinda hard to give up this big screen on the EVO.

I just read an article on this right before reading your post. According to the article sprint is charging overage even though you cannot monitor it which is upsetting customers.

I've actually got about 27 movies on the list to be watched now and you probably wouldn't want to watch any of them..except for the kids movie...*LOL* Josie just came in and stole my chair, but I'll likely go watch another one and work on my new bed doll!

This particular article is dated Oct 5th. According to the memo from Nov, since they can't separate the usage, they weren't going to add any overage charges. I'll find out pretty quick, I'm over 5 gig. *l*

This is what AT&T did. Even though the plan said unlimited they started charging after 4G. Forced you to change your plan or pay through the nose for additional gigs.

Morning all. Barney, aka Charo, aka $%&*%$ nerve, and I are heading north this morning. Should be at DRS around 1230 provided the truck starts. Woke it up and loaded it up yesterday. Shirley taking me over to it on her way to work.

I've gotta get another car so I don't have to wait for her.
