Snowing pretty good here in Taylor.....94 and 275 were covered in snow, it hit hard and fast....just got done doing a local run...supposed to turn to ice and freezing rain later on, then warm up on Mon, then get cold again after the first of the week...Please, be careful out there if you're in it...

They just remodeled the room, it was simple but clean, no carpet, a flatscreen tv, brand new heater/ac, microwave and fridge. Only 35 dollars with the corperate discount.

A few more reasons why a van is so much more appealing....nothing like the government controlling income.

It is only a matter of time until the government starts restricting vans as well. Restriction and control is the way of government. Get ready, it is coming down the pike.

LOL... Not likely. People have been saying this for years. Look at the changes that HOS has gone through in the last 10 years, and not any hint at all that vans are on the radar to be included. Anythings possible, and it may be that the government will latch on to this group that they could have more control over at some point, but it would seem like they would've made some move in that direction already.

You plan on kicking off in less than four years? I truly expect to see the push for more van regs while your buddy Barry is in office.

I KNOW you are WAY older than me, but not THAT old!

I can really go anytime now....just making a cushion....LOL they change the rule..I am gone....:)

I don't think they have the resources to regulate vans. I can see 2 scenarios that would cause it.

1. An increase in major accidents caused by vans. It would have to be enough to get national media attention. Whether it's right or wrong, a van that causes a crash doesn't get the media attention that a truck gets...even if the fatalities are the same.

2. Once they get EOBR's in the trucks, they will loose a lot of the revenue from logbook violations. That will also free up some resources. At that point, they will likely increase mechanical inspections or throw a larger net (vans) to make up for the lost revenue.

17 people in a 12 person van hits head on with a truck...who gets the media attention?...the truck....

Besides all that, van drivers...actually the over saturation of vans... kind of regulate themselves. It's tough to get fatigued circling walmart looking for the best wifi signal :D
