And i have had generater for 2 years ...
E-trac converted and freight - sleeper wall installed ...

Likely much cooler than I was with only a fantastic fan

Do they come in charcoal? Never mind, I'll check the configurator...I'm still looking to replace the Sprinter with a Promaster, seems like the perfect size and weight capacity

I'll be expecting a report on inside temp from Laredo in July ;)

(Very nice though, congrats)

I've thought about a black van. Thought it would be too hot in the summer. I'm thinking gray on the next van.

Hey general question. Owner is flipping out about my van being OOS on the boards greater than 7 days so its flagged red. WTH does that mean?

And does it matter? Are we not allowed to take more than 7 days off as "independent contractors"

Well I just want to make sure there's nothing negative going on with the boards...i read it simply as van is OOS not "danger we're going to kick you out" but I dunno...

Still thinking of moving up to a straight truck?

My thinking is that since you've been out that long, your not making them any money. I see there point on that but it's your decision on when you get ready to go back out.

Also if your one of those drivers who is in service most of the time then it shouldnt matter. I could understand if your oos all the time.

Always thinking. Just can't seem to justify the extra hassle until HOS is forced on vans or I get a co driver

I might have another job soon, my truck will be up for sale if it happens would be perfect, and cheap, but only good for a solo, sleeper is small.

Pm me details if you like. I just sent a several page long text about what was on my mind to the company owner. Will see what he thought soon enough :D

Yep further angry texts clarified his position. Although he laid out his expenses; with me paying fuel, insurance, license, tolls, and maintenance I'd swap with him in a heartbeat...i have a feeling he's a frustrated new business owner that forgets the costs of having an independent on the lease is far cheaper than anything he could do hiring employees

Also nothing is stopping him from hiring all the contractors beating a path to his door (;))

This kind of thinking, treating contractors like employees, is quite common with Canadian carriers....expedite and regular LTL/TL.

Simple phone call solves all. Apparently the load board needs a reason when you're off more than 7 days and he thinks it looks bad.

Back in service (thought I was already???)

I always liked the non-white vans. If I would have bought a new van it would have been something other than white, but I am too cheap to buy new. The closest I came to buying new was a new but left over one year old van, which was white.
Maybe if you waited a few more months you could have bought one looking like this:

Anyway, congrats.

I like red and charcoal ... best .. but after dealing a couple days and those available to far away ... i took the black one ... they picked it up in Burnsville , Mn... and brought it back to Waterloo , Iowa ...
Nice van, but I would like to see it longer!
159 " inside for me will work out great ... i moved my divider wall different in this one ... closed 110 " for freight ... 49 " enclosed sleeper ... if more freight room needed 150 " is the max available as the last 9" behind the seat will be left for twin bed folding forward behind seat when extra space needed ... remember if full with freight and not direct deliver or multi-day driving ... i get paid motel rooms ... so i don't need the permanent bunk ..
My old bed used to take me 10 minutes or more to move for extra freight room....this new bed maybe 1 minute ... snap two seat-belt type straps together .. fold forward.. hook in place ...
