Ouch not good had one of those after kidney stones, took almost a month to fully recover, on the plus side I did lose about 15 pounds....

Oh my, that's a really long time. I hope I don't get kidney stones because I've heard those are horrible. Losing 15 pounds wouldn't be bad tho

Just out of curiosity how much is the permit for Arizona for a cargo van? They ding me for $79 for a 30 day permit for my straight truck.

Well......
If there is a permit required, looks like I'll find out this week. I went to Tucson & Nogales last year and didn't even think about it.
OR, there's not one. Not sure.

Any commercial vehicle over 6000 pounds GVW that does not have apportioned plates with Arizona listed on the cab card needs to buy a permit when entering the state, I'm assuming you will be on I40 just stop at the weigh station and they will take care of you. There is a way to do it online before you come but they are pretty quick at the weigh station, and that one is open 24/7.

Being a cargo van you might be able to get away without it, but if you get pulled over hard to say what would happen.

Permit fees.
Single-trip permits are issued for 96 hours, or four days, or upon exit from the state (whichever comes first). A registration permit is $1 per axle per 50 miles traveled. Motor carrier fees are $48 per trip for over 50 miles, and $12 per trip of 50 miles or fewer. The fee for use fuel is $65 per trip for over 50 miles traveled, and $16 per trip for 50 miles or fewer. A Class A overdimensional permit is $15, and a Class A overweight permit is $75.

So......
2 axles.
About 300 miles in AZ to drop.
About 300 miles in AZ to NM.
So $1 x 2 axles x 12 sets of 50 miles.
Equals $24.
If that's how it works.

That is for the single trip permit, I think it's easier to just get the 30 day permit which is a flat fee according to the GVW of the vehicle. I can't find the table for those charges online but I can't see the permit for a cargo van being more than $30 or so.

Yeah, I wouldn't think so.

Anyone remember if OK takes credit cards in the Will Rogers Tpke? It's been too long. I don't remember and need to get cash on my next fuel stop.

I don't recall seeing signs that they take cards, there were 2 toll stops before OKC they were $4 each and then 2 stops going around OKC those last 2 were only $1.15 but there were no attendants so you had to have correct change.

There's a line on the application that I tried to copy, and it wouldn't copy, that states that the applicant's truck must already have "foreign" IRP registration.
I didn't read further because the gas nozzle clicked off.
