The problem did not occur in Michigan. The event took place in Atlanta and we were living in South Carolina at the time. This is a case where breaking a knee or two would be justified, BUT, I don't do things like that. Hey, it's only money. I am a rich expediter, why do I need it back? I bet he voted for Obama too! I just heard on the radio a couple days ago, Illinois is saying that their system was only meant to compel people to not ignore a summons and show up for court. It's been abused and now they're implementing reforms, one of which is to ensure that you can't be cuffed and stuffed unless it's been documented you've been served the same way as any other court summons. If their reforms pass, it will no longer be sufficient to just mail the summons to your last known address and presume you got it.

It's amazing how efficient prosecutors and courts can be over $280, but always fall flat when it's billion dollar corporations involved.
