I personally would be happy going a year or two w/o changes. I could use a few more 2011's .

We talked with two different white glove teams and both mentioned that they were told that some changes were coming the 1st of the year. I assumed it was more flat rate changes than anything.

Don't want to spread more rumors so I will shut up at this time.

Gotta be keerful of those "white glove" coffee klotches. Advisement taken from those sessions may result in a sore krank (from stepping on it). I need to ask.....jes how busy do you wanna be, and what has been YOUR recent satisfactory move history??

Instant gratification still amazes me, who tinks that they are there, and by what measure.

Everybody's measure is different, Colonel. That's what makes this country of ours so wonderful....wouldn't you agree?

Regarding the rumors, I have also heard some mentioned. They all, however, came from LEAMo/o's.

Yes, there are to be many big changes..one of wich is the creation of the "golden glove division'" for an annual fee of $10,000 - you will have an under 75 @ each express center that you check into , and a guaranteed best rate of the day load opportunity. Also FED-MEX Begins operation soon, offering escorted loads to the interior of Mexico. Drivers who qualify for FED-MEX will be required to be proficient in small arms handling and evasive driving. More to follow.

It's easy to follow the naysayers, and rumor mongers..went in service yesterday, we are busy already being dispatched two deep @ very good rates. Team/ LG/ Canada / refer have all come into play. Really going to focus on getting DOD qualified this year as well.

We will be told of any real changes through official channels.

Or not.

Major policy and equipment changes were made when Diane and I were there that were negative for percentage-paid contractors who ran their own equipment. No one from headquarters breathed a word about it. Our suspicions were not confirmed until we put two and two together and questioned people in the office.

If you wait around to hear what is going on through official channels, things may develop that you will never hear about. Rumors are on thing. Unannounced facts are another.

Important, contractor-related developments occur at all carriers over time but they are not always communicated directly to the contractors. While the rumor mill is rightly viewed as an unreliable information source, it is also true that individual contractors get wind of this or that and pass the news along.

When I hear a rumor, I listen and then try to verify the source, exactly as I did in post 13 above. It is a good way to find the nuggets of truth that are floating around out there but that the company (any company) has not announced.

Some carriers are in the habit of making changes that benefit them but intentionally fail to tell their contractors.
No incentive to have contractors with provided information that would negatively effect their bottom line but would be beneficial to the carrier.
That is usually followed by wasting money on recruiting and scratching their heads wondering why everyone left.
