At one point the city had the highest median income..now it is 66th out of 68
the city now has the highest unemployment in the nation, and the highest crime rate crime rate is 5 times higher then the national avg)
they spend over $11,000 per student in the public schools when the nation avg is approx $9600, yet they only graduate 25% of all kids...more kids of graduation age have a better chance of ending up in jail instead of graduatating...
homes sell for and avg of $5700 some as lower as a buck
every mayor since 1961 has been a democarat
the fed gov has spent billions in ths city starting with Johnson when in `1962 he started his "model city" here with a 400 million dollar investment to improve a 9 square mile area to make it a model for liberal cities all over the country to use as an example....it didn't work
