Is it Slow

Now that October is over, is it slow or is it just me. My truck grossed good numbers for the month of October. Now a new month has started and I have been stuck in Nashville since tuesday. I plan on staying out for the holidays. Well except for New Years, I plan on having a romantic getaway with my wife to celebrate. But what is the forecast for these next two months. I recently found out that because my owner operator gets a special rate per mile. That in certain areas they are going to book the load with the people who get $1.20 per mile because its cheaper for them. Not a good look, so that makes me concentrate on getting my own truck faster.

The forcast for the next two months is a who;e lotta "don't know".If I were a betting man, I'd put money on "ok". Slow at the beginning of the month, and speeding up to "so-so" by mid month. December should be more of the same.

It is not just in the expedite industry but things are very slow right now for the entire trucking industry!

CP,

When in doubt, definitely check in with your carrier. Make sure that the QC is showing you in the same place that you are sitting. Sometimes those things hiccup. If dispatch seems too busy to entertain a few questions about freight volumes, talk to your coordinator.
