Is It Slow For Everybody This Month???????

Simon: I don't think it is that.
I have been with Bolt for 16 months now.
And this is the first time in 16 months that this has happened to me.
Was just wondering if it was slow for everybody else.
Well October is here now.
Will just have to see what happens.

hauling freight for Panther should start to get busier for Panther drivers considering all the trucks Panther is losing everyday!

(and that is a fact.)

I agree with you. Some of the other carrier's drivers, other than Panther's, are starting to say it's slow. I'd say the ratio of drivers to loads has finally evened out.

The past two months have been the best this year for me. Compared to past years, it's been slow. More like 2001, I'd say. Not as bad as 2000. I'd say a recession is highly probable, so make money while you can or you'll not make it through the slow months. Save those nickles and dimes.

I don’t think its true at all at least if you’re a Con-way Now refugee I had 1 nice load this week 1057 mile course it was house hold goods so was really 1257 miles and deadheaded 337 miles for. And since in middle of nowhere I’ll probably head back to Ohio Friday night empty, our drive 200 miles on my own now in hopes of a load tomorrow gee tough one.
Any way last week had 2 loads wait 3 had a dry run, and a so called weekend run of 450 miles.
Week before that had a load going to Minot ND never though I’d get it all the way as a solo so took it boy what a mistake I made shoulda took the refusal. Because its 520 miles deadhead to get reloaded again. Oh and guess what they gave me a load going right back to Minot ND from quad cities and not wanting to get yet another refusal I said if you pay $200 for fuel to get back and they agreed so I took that.
2 loads the week before that. But the week before that was a good week think did 2300 miles best since the buyout but that would have been a low week @ con-way!

btw my settlement for last week was 352.87 about enough to buy the fuel for the dead all the extra deadhead I did last week/this week.

I know unhappy can always go some place else right? Well who says I’m not just not making any rash decisions looking in to other options besides expedite also.

Sitting in a little town called Eagle Bridge NY! Just north of Albany.

On the way up wondered why it was called that! got here in middle of the night and came across many side roads because had to back track about 5 times because of 10.5 over passes on state routes even! Any way as crossing the bridge in the very small town saw a metal eagle statue at the top of the Iron bridge so don’t think I have to ask why its got it’s name LOL very pretty up here today weather is great the view is fantastic but would like to be rolling though some one send me a load please?

Oh yeah thank you verizon for having service here so can at least get on the net

Why would you go to ND twice? Not the wisest of decisions. You would have been better off to go to Rockford or Chicago.
Better yet, find your own load out of MN and keep yourself in the freight lanes.
ND is not a freight lane as you have found out. Once is a favor in a week, the second time your mistake.

First time was a mistake told me it was swapping it didn't, second was the favor that so far has not been returned like right now same person is begging me to take a load 200 miles away staying in the New England area on a Friday which would leave me with no hrs left to get out.
Yeah I have no business sense or I’d never returned to Panther in the first place! Should of never took this load either but knew it was the only thing I was going to get with out deadheading another 250 miles to IL so your right its my fault!
Should of listened to that little voice in my head you know it’s a mistake to trust any one at Panther! And don’t know why keep thinking this time I’m going to be wrong now I sit in upstate NY tomorrow is Friday and I’ll most likely deadhead to Ohio before I get another load if even then.

Don't let fees be a road block, if they will get you moving and keep you moving - then the fee will not be a big deal.

I not a very smart man...but, if ANY company is actively trying to recruit drivers on a regular basis it would indicate that they are experiencing a high turn over rate.

That said, one would have to ask why drivers do not stay.

High turnover is a fact of life in trucking. When I started with TST, we were told in orientation that the turnover for '98 was in excess of 100%.
