Was just digging around Truckpaper.com looking at different trucks when something caught my eye..........

In the Truck Categories there was VOLKSWAGON......

So.....I Clicked on it to see what a VW "Truck" was.....VW has some pretty cool looking Cabovers down there in South America:

http://www.truckpaper.com/list/list.aspx?ETID=1&catid=27&Manu=VOLKSWAGEN&bcatid=27

As I was looking through all the Ads......I Ran into this on Page 3:

Pretty Cool Looking......But.......What is it?? A Fiat - A Mercedes - What?

Yes VW makes a long line of commercial trucks.
there is an assembly line somewhere in South America, and they seams to be the most sold trucks in Brazil, & are also imported into Australia.
far as i know it will not work here in the US do to lower cettan diesel. and will not complay with emission control.
those Sprinters-like vans are very popular in Europe & Israel too, but again they are rated for way over 10,000p. {up to 15 ton}.

I had to buy a door switch for my Sprinter. The new switch had a VW emblem on it. That's not surprising, I have a suspicion most of those German cars share a lot of similar parts, only the name changes to protect the guilty.

I think theres a reason that the VW cargo van is not sold here in the US. Because the VW and the sprinter is very close if not the same. The VW would give sprinter a run for its money here in the US.

Must have been someone who purchased a vw crafter grill kit online.

The body of the VW crafter is the same as the Sprinter's, but the engine is a BE TDI engine. For what it's worth.

All anyone has to do is look up european vans and you will see more then MB makes large cargo vans. What it comes down to is that MB decided when they owned Dodge they would bring in their van even with all the hoops they had to go thru to get the van here.

Things like assembling the van then taking it apart to ship because of the tariff laws and reassembling it again in the US.

Heck even look to Mexico and you will see toyota cargo vans and UD ones also to name a couple.
