Interesting Season

No more hunting, back on the road. It was an interesting time. VERY LITTLE game. The ducks did not really show up until the last few days. Heavy winds kept us off the Lake. It was, however, a GREAT time!! Got to spend time with many old friends and got to see a 10 year old get his first ducks out of a layout boat.

No deer, only saw 3. That time was GREAT as well. Hunting with my dad, brother, nephew and an old friend. Had the great privilege of getting to hunt with some wounded vets as well. Had a wonderful evening around the campfire with them.

I wish I had lost my self somewhere. It was WONDERFUL breathing clean, free of diesel fume air, even if just for a few weeks!!

Welcome back Layout,,I was wonder the same thing whether ya got lost or not..

My son took a 6 point other then that, nobody else has taken any. Dismal year I guess.I did not get out deer hunting this season. Each time I got to the house I either had no interest or it was pouring rain only adding to my lack of interest. Pretty sure the waterfowl hunting is done for us also. Lack of work is causing less time off

My year was odd. NO ducks after the first day or two. They showed up around Thanksgiving, so did the "Gales of November". Got blown off the water on that Friday. Ice on my sunglasses, decoys, everything. Maybe next season. I bet they pounded them this past week.

Folks, when Diane and I visited Joe and Jen at their home a couple months ago, he told me he would rather hunt than eat. That was more than a figure of speech. I believe him.

I hope to get in a couple of days of deer hunting when home for Christmas. It's iffy. The friend who's land I was going to hunt on is not having his best year health wise. We might have to cancel our annual hunt. That would be a shame. I always look forward to hunting with him.
