Insurance rates on the rise and why????

I know ins. rates have gone up for some. For instance I have a buddy of mine who is with Barrett Directline. At Barrett they put everyone's ins. payment all together and divide by the number of trucks. This is so everyone pays the same amount. Well this past week they had a price increase from $180 to $225 per week. This also includes a $27 fee for occ. ins. Right now he is not a very happy camper at Barrett. Also I want to mention is I think their coverages are $2 million liability and $250,000 cargo ins. Somebody can correct me if I am wrong. IMO this is totally insane and really uncalled for. Also they just instituted a escrow account for all drivers. I believe it was set at a $1000 and was taken out at $200 and $300 per week until fulfilled instead of the customary $50 to $100 per week. Sounds like a big money grab to me.

as said before...my renewal just came in....about a $350 DROP....DECREASE in my CIS, Shelly and Load 1 approved insurance...LOL just for that I may stick another year just to :pokepoke: John some more....hehehe

because I just wanna be a Toys R Us kid......sing it!!
