Hello everyone!

I'm really, really pi... mad. Just got the renewal from CIS and surprise, surprise! From $200 they jumped to $580!!! Do ya guys know another insurer? That amount is higher than the vehicle's payment or even than my monthly mortgage. It's outrageous.

Wow, an almost 300% increase. Does that include everything? Liability, collision, and cargo.

Yep, everything... plus $100 deductible. I told 'em to switch it to $1000... still looking for another insurer...

OOIDA said no Sprinter type vehicles.
No Hazmat if I wanted to take my D unit there. I Do Not want to take it there.

Whats wrong with an insurance company making a profit ? You want to price yourself to make a profit also.
Of course they aren't competing with yellow cubes.

Progressive will increase the insurance for everybody. It is not just you. And I don't think you will find an other company.

I think he's saying $580 per month or $7k per year. I'm not looking forward to getting my renewal but I have a few more months to go until then.

I think they are actually seeing what we do and the associated risk we represent...the miles, the weather, the traffic and night creatures...total risk...
back in the 90's was paying about $5,000 insurance for my taxi! as an O/O...

They have figured out their costs, their risks, and their ROI.
They bid your work accordingly.

Even if you are able to change insurance companies,be sure to mention to your carrier how your costs are going up.

My carrier won't give me a penny extra for that. They didn't do it for fuel either. Well, they did it about 2 yrs ago and that was all they did.

The thought is that if many more get raised they need to realize that as your costs raise their pay needs to also raise.
IF it is an industry wide issue.
Nobody wins if they can't help you. They may not be able to lose capacity and you can only work so cheap.
