I don't care what Harry Dean Stanton's position on gun control happens to be.

I don't care if the 25 year-old kid who showed up in the middle of the night to fix my van by the road has 37 tattoos.

I don't care if the policeman who protects my neighborhood smokes, drinks and curses like a sailor.

I don't care if my physician has been divorced three times and now lives with his secretary.

I don't care if my garbageman likes to listen to Howard Stern all day long.

I don't care if the local preacher's wife chose to get an abortion.

We can respect people's gifts and talents irrespective of their politics or position on gun control.

This thread was started to reflect on the acting career of Harry Dean Stanton. A fine actor in his own right. What annoys me is how often some members re-direct a thread to their pet issue; whether it be guns, guns or more guns.

It isn't healthy to become obsessed with any single issue. Being a patriotic, flag waving American doesn't require one to become a gun fanatic. I would encourage every law-abiding American citizen who wishes to own a gun to do so. Then, be quiet about it.

Now, does anyone have comments on Harry Dean Stanton's acting career?
