People are logging empty miles?:D

Didn't know Dan was at Armstrong until Dave told me awhile ago.
Glad to hear he is do well. One of these days when I am up there I will have to stop in.

Sure ,but FMCSA guidlines say you can driven an unladen CMV a "reasonable" amount of miles for food or lodging . It gets tricky though . Regulations state you must do a pretrip before operating . That can mess up a 34 hour restart .

I am assuming you are talking about the "Roberts" days. Way moe singles at the early going because HOS were much different. We ran basically converted Ford chassis with a 12 foot box and a 36" sleeper. But.....they paid many of the hotel bills.
When that disappeared we moved to KW areodyne sleepers.
Wow....a standup 72" er.
A BJ and the Bear specials with 24' boxes
Then when we started doing teams, we went to Dan Schultz , Freightliner of Knoxville and started buying FL70's with the 72" sleepers. They were pretty much the biggest available unless you went to Double Eagle. Now your lucky if you could even get a team to drive one. How spoiled we have become.

Dave is right, here is a link to some of the pictures of early Roberts Express trucks and some pictures of trucks over the years. Remember C-link pager Dave.
