Yeah, anyone that falls for those worn out ideas that corporations only support ReBumLiCans is more foolish than a than a person that buys a house without a home inspection.

Just remember two important things -

Unions and Corporations don't vote.

Loyalty of a worker to a company is very small but loyalty to a union is very large because of the mindset of the worker - between the two it is the union that is the most dangerous in our political system.

I agree Greg. I really don't believe that either should be allowed, but, both would always find a way to get around any law that bars them. It is up to the people. We can control this, it will be difficult, but we can. When you see where the money lines up, vote for or against the money. It all boils down to what you as an individual believes in.

And this i have never understood, I was in grade school and had figured out that outside of wage and benefits, and even then how costs effects those two items, your concerns and the place you work had better be the same if not your working at the wrong place.

They may not vote but they do have a heck of an influence on the voters within their own envirament...

Only if the people are stupid enough to not think for themselves. If they are that stupid they get what they deserve. Too bad that we who are able to think for ourselves are subjected to the crud that they force on us.

Corporations - no

Unions - yes.

It comes down to two things - the mindset of a union worker (us vs. them or Rightious vs. Evil as some unions have said).

When you live in an area like Detroit and stand in line at say Krogers, you can see where the pride sits. The person wearing a jacket with a BIG embrodered UAW symbol on the back and no mention of the company they work for shows their pride is in their union and not the product they build or the company that provides them an income.

The same goes for the idea or concept that the company is there to provide them work, it is not. If the company moves to Mexico, it is not the fault of the company but rather the enviorment that the company has to work in - in this case we are not a right to work state and collective bargining short changed the worker by restricting them.

The politics behind the union is the same, they count on the mentality for that pride in the union to tell them who to vote for using the excuse the person is pro-labor. It is something the average worker doesn't seem to get - democrats don't work towards expanding economies but republicans do.

can't remember who said it it's a harsh statement but has some truth to it ....

America is in that awkward position of too late to work within the system and too early to start shooting.

Oh I hope we can fix things and avoid the "shooting" part. It seems less likely everyday but one can pray that it can be worked out.

Liberals currently control two branches of our government, that being the executive and legislative branches. We should be thankful the liberals do not control the Supreme Court. Conservatives currently hold a 5-4 majority at the SC, thanks to strong appointments made by George W. Bush.

Old law gets revisited from time to time, depending on which issues are brought before the Court. Let's hope some petitioner gets a case before the Supreme Court where Roe v. Wade and affirmative action are reviewed on the merits. That would be a jolt.

I remember my old union days as well. It was like having two bosses, two groups that controlled my wages and life. One is really bad enough.
