I agree with teambud8. If you are independent then you are independent . If you are a company employee, then you wear those uniforms. Drive a clean truck, wear clean clothes, brush your hair,put a little mouthwash in before going inside and treat shipping employees like you would like to be treated. Seems pretty professional too me !! And about those deductions - I deduct my CLEAN t shirts, jeans and shoes on my taxes. They are business related. Doesn't have to be a uniform to be a tax deduction.

Our uncle Sam will let us write off uniforms for work,but not jeans and a T shirt,they specify must have a logo.

Your right image is very important, but also being courtise to the shipper and the consignee no matter what will go along way as well.
Derogatory remarks or anytning like that will condem ya as a sentinal for the company. Uniform and thanking them with a blessing can do wonders and never hurts at all.
