The escrow is not ALL about the equipment....It also covers any fines that might come in from Canada Customs Service that might show up after the unit leaves...

True! It is more about profit. Profit from interest earned and not paid. Profit from fees kept and escrow not returned. Welcome to the world of transportation! Step right up...

Deductions: Week 1, Escrow Funds $50.00 (15) Weeks
Deductions Week 2-15, $50.00 Escrow Funds (15 Weeks)
Week 16 on $35.00 Satelilite Messaging, Truck Insurance.
"Escrow Funds: Appears on settlement as $20 Qualcom satellite reserve and $40 Truck insurance escrow x 15 weeks =$900.00 total escrow".
There are other deductions, but I did not include them because Panther does not list them as Escrow. Panther web site say's after week 1, weeks 2-15 $125.00 escrow with held, week 16 & forward $75 a week.
My personal experience with Panther was slightly different. They with held up to $160 per week and after I left, the Satellite and key board were returned by me Via DHL. I never (or at least not yet) had the escrow returned.

I do also have to add, one 'g' in my name... I let it go with people I converse with that don't attack me for my views, one 'g'.

Greg, we share the same first name. I spell my name with 2 G's. One at the beginning and one at the end. Spelling Greg with only one G would give you Gre or Reg.

With this in mind I think I'd be telling any carrier that when the equipment comes off the unit there better be a check cut the same day.

I left Panther last oct. (for greener pastures :), sent everything I had with Panthers name on it back by ups(they paid the cost) and recieved escrow and all settelments with in the 45 days. I have since returned to the cat after exploring the browner areas of expedite. Next time try being a little more pro active: purchase your insurance, plates etc on your own dont get tied up with having a company control your independence? Paid escrow in 10 weeks . qc and comp? with them cost is ave.70 bucks a week? Why are you having to pay those high deductions from your settelments? Have straight truck not a fleet. also join ooida ,check out other insurance providers. good luck in these slow times,I found that most expedite companies are not what they advertise. Panther has always been up front with us, of course we have only been in expediting for 30 months, however you must roll with the changes to make your income stay at levels you can live with and continue to prosper. I feel it is time to encourge newbies to stay away until the freight returns to at least '05 levels.

Well if you sent something by DHL they may not have gotten it . There is a topic at Amazon.com about poor service by DHL . Over 1,000 people have posted saying shipments by DHL were lost , stolen , late , or damaged .

I know in Florida they closed up around Christmas and a lot of people never got their Christmas items shipped. Talk about a lot of aggravated people. Likely why you see all the comments on Amazon.

Wonder who'd take over Trip-pak? Besides most are O/O's just like us if DHL sells out there will be yet another flood of vans into our area.

Panther instructed me to use DHL paid for the return Freight, sent me an account # by e mail. They paid me for my last run minus everything they could think of. There was no accounting for the escrow monies.

Kinda makes one wonder if Panther running freight is just a cover for thier real business of equipment sales and rentals! *L*
