nothing to do with what the op wanted to know.........had an 81 westy. had it 2 or 3 years. put 3 engines in it in that thime including the last won that lunched during the next owners test drive. problem? no cooling to the no. 1 cylinder. vw remanned all the engines in toronto but problem was never addressed. just slap new parts on and send the engine out. never an air cooled engine again.....unless i get a '67 911 targa.
espar is the solution. maybe ask the owner to insulate the truck.(use the search) won't loose loads because the walls are covered.
