Idleing a Cat. 3126

Does it hurt to idle the 3126 Cat. engine? When I do I hit the cruise and idle it about 1200 rpms.

Shouldn't hurt it.

1200 is fine. CAT recomends extended idleing should be set at about 1000 rpms anyway to avoid wet slack.

There was a certain RPM that mine would cause things to vibrate. I always set mine at a speed that was smooth. It was somewhere around 1000 RPM. May have been under 1000 by a little.
