IdleAire is Struggling

Are semi's wired for 110? If not, is it something that is inexpensive to do?

Yea, just wire it like an RV, there really is nothing hard about it. The biggest thing is making sure things are grounded and the wires are connected correctly (hot to hot, neutral to neutral and ground to ground).

Actually blue sea systems had a good write up on things, I don't know if they still do.

Well Scuba, if you have a generator with a roof top RV A/C, it only makes sense to have the shore power capabilities.

A lot of 'APU's are just generators, some more expensive then a good Onan generator.

Here's the latest on IdleAire:

"At the end of April, however, another SEC filing announced IdleAire had secured a line of credit up to $25 million and had borrowed approximately $3.7 million. 'The proceeds are being used for general corporate purposes of the company to pay disbursements approved by lenders,' the filing said. 'To satisfy one of the closing conditions of the credit facility, the company has retained CRG Partners Group LLC, a turn-around management and restructuring consulting firm.'

"IldeAire also has hired Getzler Henrich & Associates LLC and KPMG Corporate Finance LLC to help develop a plan to provide enough money to finance its operations for the next year."

It will be anyday now before they close up shop.

This was a TERRIBLE idea from day one. WHY? Cause we subsidized it thru a Govt plan. No Investors were willing to invest so the Govt thought like they USUALLY do and now look at it. Terrible CONCEPT, wrong timming, and most important OVER PRICED. I will make monthly payments back to myself on the APU, run it, repair it and in three years pocket myself a nice little chunk of change vs the price of IDLEAIR.

Nothing against it if would not of had Govt financing involved.
