I was wrong!

When the new HOS rules came out I made a couple of snarky comments. I didn't think the 30 minute break would really effect us. It doesn't if we have an ordinary load. But then we started getting government Dual Driver Protection loads. A driver has to be on duty with the load at all times. This forces you to drive the 8/2 split. If it is a long drive it wears us out. Or sometimes we may get three of these right in a row.

So I must apologize for my smarty pants attitude. I was wrong.

Now I wish they would change it back so we don't have to drive tired.

don't drive tired.....just don't drive....pretty simple.......when you made your comments earlier you didn;t do them loads....so refuse them.......if the government wants them moved that badly they can supply an escort....

We tend to refuse those loads, for two reasons, they tend to pay much lower than our normal freight does and we cannot stand working the 8/2 clock. It is VERY tiring and messes us up for our normal work.

The 1/2 break is awesome when under a normal load...

The government did not cause us to have to run 8 8 2 2 .... our statistics did

These are hard loads and we can only run so many before we cry uncle and need a break...

After running enough of them it is getting a little easier and we are doing a lot better at managing our time
