I Think I Have Driving Fever

I don't know whats happening to me, when I'm on the road for two months or more home seems to be the only thing that I can think about, and then when I'm home being back out on the road racks my brain like a fat kid thinking about that Twinkie in his lunch box. I don't know why, maybe its the feel of being behind the wheel of a class 8 straight truck or maybe its the money, or maybe its seeing new places and meeting new people. Now that I look at it that way I think its all those reasons. What do you guys think?

You got the bug. Confucius has always said that once you get bit by the bug it’s a disease that you will never get rid of. There is no none cure anywhere in the world. Although there has been a rumor of some kind of cure over in Australia, in the deep, deep out back. It has been told that you will have to go over there and pull a train into the out back and hope you can find it. THE CURE that is, But beware that you don’t get taken in by their big trains, or you will never come out live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it is a serious addiction. I've had my CDL since 1993.. and every time I left driving, I ended up coming back to it.. LOL.. my last time I decided I was gonna get a "regular" job... gave up the truck.. went to a Fortune 500 company in Columbus Ohio.. and became a "suit".. LOL... Well, guess what.. within a year, this "suit" was spending breaktime on the loading dock instead of the lunchroom, talking to drivers, checking out trucks, etc... oh well... guess it's in the blood by now...

Signs you're addicted to driving.

1. You refer to distance in hours instead of miles.

2. You remember cities by what loads you delivered there and what the trip was like.

3. You go on vacation and know exactly how long it is to the next restroom.

4. You die laughing when someone talks about a 2 hour trip being long and call them a wimp.

5. You're away from it a while and go for 4 hour drives just to get a meal from that little place you used to stop at.

6. You have trouble sleeping at home cause the beds not vibrating and it's too dang quiet without 100 other trucks idling (Oh, c'mon now I can't be the only one! LOL)

7. You have EVER pulled into a weigh station in your personal vehicle while on vacation... or at least put on your blinker and slowed up when you saw the little word out.. LOL.

... and lot's of other signs others can think of I'm sure..

:) :) :) :)

Remember.. One bad day on the road, is still better than two good days stuck in an office..
