I SCREWED UP

Every so often I screw up and do something right. When getting my van ready to expedite, I installed two aux batteries. They are controlled by the power window circuit. On with ignition, off when ign off. I thought ahead and installed an aux toggle switch to control the battery relay. My battery is dying a slow painful death. Will replace batt tomorrow. Wouldn't start this eve. Flipped the aux relay switch, and off she went. Just a little helpful hint someone might use.

Good tip. One I also like and has saved my arse.

Truck stops, Napa etc... These little jump kits that you can keep charged (have to recharge about once every three months when not used).

I went to start my truck after a long cool weekend on a Monday. No trucks left around me and notta nothing. I instantly paniced. Saying to myself "idiot you gotta an APU and you did not even run it to charge the batteries" So I tried the APU notta. SHIOX now a jump is gona cost me a fortune. Than it hit me hey you bought that kit.

Well now I was kicking myself for kicking myself. Its already paid for itself, and if your next to me a truck stop and she wont start, I got the solution. Look Mom no cables...

Many of the new APU's have a circuit built in to monitor the batteries and automatically start and recharge at a certain voltage level. The older ones don't however I've been told that at least many of the older Proheat and Rigmaster units can have that option put on as an upgrade. I'm sure it's not cheap but neither is road service.

professer,
you sound like me saying you screwed up and did something right. that is the story of my life. that's a lot better idea than the rookie swift driver who tryed to roll start his truck and browd sided the fuel island. i'm sorry i know i'm cruel for saying this but it was kinda funny. he said i was trying to roll start it and i got a text message from my girlfriend and half way through reading it i heard a loud noise and i hit the fuel pump. that part was funny.

I know of the automatic control panel for my APU for around $300 plus $200 for Centramatics plus the by pass oil filters, plus plus plus. Priorities which one first?

Ive only got so much $, and the $50.00 jump well I can live with that cost for now.

How about a new thread for the add ons that everyone saw at the show. If you added everything up how much?

My problem is I WANT IT ALL now.. Now thats a problem.
