I received the call, from US Xpress

Some lady called me, 2 months after I left my number.

She said they are now recruiting vans east of I-35 ...... .70 cents a miles for loaded miles, plus FSC. .15 cents a mile DH after 70 miles plus FSC ... and they want 14-23 days on the road.

She said it isn't "expedited", but more LTL freight.

I am supposed to receive an email with details ..... but nothing today. We shall see.

Just a FYI

One of my brokers I work with said they will be adding some units to cover the Christmas rush via Amazon. Sounds somewhat seasonal based on the information I heard. May want to check that out prior to pulling the trigger.

I haven't read anything ..... and I'm not leaving LEAM ... I simply wanted to know what they had to offer, the buzz about dedicated routes out of Detroit had me wondering ..

Any company that takes 2 months to respond to me is not a place I care to be associated with.

My understanding was that it was expedite. But if the van rate is .70 per mile and a .15 fsc, might as well be LTL.

Kind of my thought too. At .85/mile, I'm not sure it matters what kind of freight it is.

But... my understanding was that the rate is .70/mile and .15/mile for dh after 70 miles with a FSC to be added to both. In that case it would all depend on how much the FSC is. I doubt it would be enough to make that .70 look good though.

It seems like they are catching on though. I have always said that the cargo van option is undersold. There is a lot of work for cargo vans out there that just gets put on a tractor trailer because a lot of shippers do not know enough about the cargo van or they are too lazy to think out of the box.

But it's cool , we'll just stroll down to DC and participate in the 70 cent percent movement. We can protest against the 1 percent of Load One and Landstar drivers who make all of the money!

Straight trucks are 1.15 plus a fuel surcharge figured on the energy information association formula which she said was .30 didn't get much further than that but she did stress there would be many stops per load paid at 35.00 per stop.
