How to Hire????

Hello,

I am new to this forum, so I thought I would start by saying hi and I am glad to find a place with a ton of information.

My first question is-
My boyfriend and I have a company-
We have been in the industry for over 13 years but never behind the scenes with all this paperwork-
we got our company running very smoothly and so far very profitable.
Next is growth- i am not sure where to start with hiring.
I know the FMCSA needs to know and insurance but how do i tell the FMCSA that I have more than just my truck- and who else needs to know?

Insurance-
Who offers the best insurance for new drivers? I have a few people really wanting to drive but my current insurance won't take them because of lack of experience.
Who can I go to and get the best prices on insurance?

I also need a lease agreement for the new guys but I would rather take one in a template then write up my own. Any one have a template I can "borrow"?

I can be reached at [email protected]

Thanks!

Lory

Don't be cheap. Get your own transportation attorney to do your contract. There is no contract that fills all needs. Especially since you are the carrier.
I would get your basic information together and then look to move forward. You are "putting the cart before the horse".
Welcome aboard.

Needing to Hire O/O

Hello, I'm new to this and am actually looking for owner operators in the Kansas City area. Please let me know if you're looking for dedicated work there in the local KC area. I am in need of an insured O/O that can move up to 80 local loads per week. 24/7 drops at the customer. Pays $15-$25 per move based off of distance. Contact me if interested. Thanks! You would be better served to place an ad in the EO classifieds along with the type of vehicle you are looking for.
If you are looking for a straight or tractor, you had better rethink those numbers. Might get a taker if it is a cargo van you are seeking.
If you say 80 drops a week and take the average of 20 dollars a drop, that is 320 a day based on a five day week. If it is based on 7, then it is 228 per day.
The driver would be working for free at best if a straight or tractor. Truck operating expenses will eat those numbers on a daily basis.

I was going to say... even if it were the full 80, and even if it were the top $25, that's only $8000/month. Do you have any idea how much it really costs to operate a truck?
