Yep, well, you find one that has the fire in his gut and the organization to win and a speech writer that can write. Ain't seen him/her/it yet.
Paul doesn't do speech writers - he's his own man. No one is going to put any words in his mouth that are not his own.
On the fire, he manages to fire up those that attend his campaign rallies (which are generally larger than the others ...
and are growing in size ...) ... and they return the favor back to him.
He's got the organization (maybe even more so than Romney at the grassroots level) - many folks will likely get a very rude awaking when they see what will happen in Tampa. The media knows - but they are intentionally ignoring it, in order to minimize him (Paul largely drives the media nuts - whether it's left or right - and that's because he's a threat to the establishment regardless of which side of the political spectrum one is talking about)
Romney knows .... watch what he says about Paul (he's highly deferential)
Folks like to complain about a Paul/Romney alliance ... and usually lay it at Paul's feet and try and tar him with it .... but if you look at what Paul says (about Romney) and then look at what Romney says (about Paul) what is being said is very different ...
Paul is very critical (if not very vocal) of Romney on policy and record (but respectful to the man) ... Romney praises Paul on his leadership with respect to the Constitution, liberty, etc., is very measured on any criticism of Paul on foreign policy .... and is respectful to the man as well. Romney certainly can't attack him for his record or his consistency.
Who's really in the driver's seat ?
Read an interesting one this morning on LRC - it posed the question:
Will Ron Paul Invite Mitt Romney To Be His Vice President?
Is it better for Romney to try now .... and fail - which is about guaranteed at this point - and have it be his last shot ? (which it most assuredly would be) ....
or bide his time until 2016, when he'll have a chance to run as an incumbent Vice-President ... on the coattails of a popular Paul presidency ?
