How many miles did you say?

OK, so if you start out in Maine and wind up in S.C. you'll drive through ME, MA, CT, NY, NJ, DE, MD, DC, VA, NC and SC for a total of 10 states (liberally counting DC as a state). You'll drive 865 miles. You also have the option of starting out in Texas and 865 miles later finishing in Texas. One way gives you 20% of the states and the other way 2% of the states. Just around the corner has a different meaning for us.

I just made a delivery on the far side of Jacksonville, FL. and checked the distance across I-10. It's 791 miles from the Texas state line to the ocean, or 90 miles less distance than across Texas. Then to satisfy the cat (the one curiosity kills in the old saying) I checked from Anthony, TX to the Pacific ocean past San Diego and that's 709 or 172 miles less than crossing Texas. Then the cat wondered how far it was from the Mexican border to Oregon and that's 795 or 85 less than crossing Texas.

You sure don't have to convince me that Texas is HUGE.We have run more miles by far in Texas this year than anywhere else in the country,including our home state of Ohio.DD.

Secession is gaining ground, Vermont residents are among the most vocal right now with 18% of the public thinking it is a good idea, with Texas once a republic, would it be that Texas will become another state to secede.

Now I got that out, I think it took me two or three days to go across Texas, BIG STATE!
