1st truck was a 1995 FL 60 with 48 inch dbl bunk sleeper. Had it four years and sold it with 481,000 miles on it.

2nd truck was a 1996 GMC topkick. Sold it to my uncle for $1000.00 so my ex-wife didnt get it.

3rd truck was a 1997 fl 70 had it for 12 years and it had 1.3 million miles on it when I traded it off.

In 1998 I became a fleet owner and I have had a total of 14 trucks since 1995.

I've noticed that alot of people have had the freightliners, and they seem to be the choice over Internationals. Is this due to price? I have driven the FL70's and M2's and don't like how much the steering feeds back every bump in the road.

I've heard a lot of talk that class 7 Cornbinders are a major POS and I didn't want to spend my money finding out if it's true or not. I'm pleased with my M2 106.

also wanted to ask about any special class or permit to haul cars/trucks on my wedge trailer?? is it because of the fuel in the tanks? thanks again!!

I have heard that too, but I have never had a problem with any International I have driven, last company I was with had the M2 with the cats and they had alot of problems with them(that was the first year they were out though)
I did check out Kenworth/Peterbilt and they offer much more in the way of transmission options and engine choices They are probably alot more expensive because they are not all that common in class 6 and 7

Was the M2 a cat engine or the MBE engine?

I have owned three cargo vans in the past three years.

1. 2003 chevy express 3500 van that was voluntarily reposessed due to a limitless amount of breakdowns, coupled with an overpriced payment.

2. 2003 gmc savana 1500 cargo van that was retired due to one deer hit and a total engine failure in Utah last year.

3. 2004 gmc savana van that is in great condition, has survived 1 deer hit so far, and is in better mechanical condition than van number one that I owed bookoo amounts of money on.

I plan to keep van number three for at least another 350 to 400k miles; it currently has 154k on the odometer and climbing fast.
