Oh what a thought. Think about what Uber has done to the Taxi industry. It is only a matter of time until an APP arrives for our industry that posts freight available and EVERY driver see's it and the first one that bites gets it! No Bolt, no TriState, no Panther - Think shark feeding frenzy. Think 5 times the number of expediters supplementing there "day job" income with freight runs. Our full time jobs will be the scraps that are left behind. WOW, now even I am depressed!
its not that bad yet...LOL BUT as I predicted 2 years ago this is morphing more and more into something where 1 needs a 2nd source of income....its getting pretty hard to live on this as a sole source of $$$....but some are still hoping and dreaming it'll come back around..ain't happening IMO.....

It could, but to do what is necessary for it to happen, won't.

IMHO. o_O
one could say that with a few issues around the country not limited to expedite....
a sequence of events has to happen to achieve certain goals...I honestly feel concern for the ones in the middle of a truck payment and only 1 income....its a tough go....

I already have a primary source of income that is very active from April till September doing concert production which is fine I will survive well but as I have to have insurance for all year long not just on vehicle but show liability and other needs I might as well drive seeing as I own trucks anyways. So expedite fits my needs just fine , I hate being bored, and this really helps to round out my life sort of! Just wish it ran as smooth as what I'm used too the hectic stupidity of brokers who are clueless is just driving me crazy apparently all the undecided actions are the norm . Hahaha

This is not an issue for us expediters alone. I have friends and family in the big trucking business, flat bed in particular. Flat bed trucking seemed to be one area where the rates hadn't dropped at all until spring this year. Now they are all complaining about low rates and long layovers. It is worse than how it was in the downturn of the economy in 2008.

So for us in expediting, prepare to get even worse than it is now.

OK, let's remember what time of year it was. The late December miracle was already claimed 2100 years ago. So, grab on to the reason for the season - EggNog! 2 parts Bourbon to 1 part Nog. Once an hour for 10 days. You will have a great time, remember nothing AND when you wake up freight will be rolling again

WOW! That is a super good response. I had to check because I thought it was Turtle posting

And to answer the question that started this post, my carrier has offered .50 to .65¢ with no FSC to get back out of the dead zone, which sucks - but (IMHO) is better than sitting. Are they pocketing the difference or finding cheap loads to get me back in the game? Either way, I move closer where I can get a load at full price.

You should've known it wasn't Turtle. He doesn't copy and paste. Harahar.
