How is everyone doing?

Higher fuel prices increase my DH cost. When you have to cross the fence each time, DH is a significant part of your costs even if FX has a good DH structure, you just gotta go farther to get freight, or sit forever waiting for a Canada load to drop out of the sky wherever you are. No big, just the way it is.

Nope Linda, all my FSC's are based on the same as everyone else even tho "cheap" diesel in Ontario is $2.85 a US gal in USD. Montreal fuel is up near $3.15!

That is interesting piper1 changes your cost of business from ours a great deal. Thanks for the insite on that as I had just not paid much attention to what you guys were having to pay for fuel in Canada.

Piper is prolly paid the same rate in US dollars...so when the Looney is low like last month at .82 vs the US buck....there was money to be made....BUT when the Loon is high as it is now...it bites.

For us, May was lousy. June, so far, is going pretty well. FSC needs to catch up to fuel costs though.

After Pelicn said may was bad for them, I threw some #'s it the wall for may....may was pretty good here...1st i do not look at fsc as a seperate stream of income...it all gets tossed together for me. I know alot of you don't do that, but I'd be willing to bet most of you don't run your business as i run mine at all...so..
for may i ran just under 10,000 loaded miles and less then 1300 total dispatched empty miles to get to a load...(i don't keep track of the miles i ran all over lookin for freight because that is my decision to do so as i refuse to sit for any extended amout of time, but you can bet that it was more then my dispatched DH miles) when i move emptu lookin for freight, I move on my dime i never take a paid empty move...in the month of may i ran for over and average of over $.86 a loaded mile........so that ain't too bad in a CV......solo driver..........

Crunched some numbers, with the runs so far in June, May has been redeemed, fixed expenses for June are covered and a profit has been made.
Sometimes looking at the bigger picture tells a different story. :)

May sucked out loud for us. We were driving an owner's truck, and the runs just weren't there. I believe the better part of the month was just wrong place, wrong time.

Bought our truck on 6/3, in service 6/5, and have been going like gangbusters ever since. Got laid over in Toronto last week and thanked the heavens for it, as we knew there wasn't crap coming out of there. We were dead tired. Parked in the Husky in Mississauga, used the head, laid down, and the darned phone rang again. I prayed that it wouldn't ring, but was equally glad that we could keep moving, with money to boot. That little run paid well, too.

May was a very good month for us, as good as a "good" month was before the recession began. Can't say much about June as we have been home for a good part of it.

I just got home after being out April, May, and the middle of June here. My carrier is been running me ragged, and I had to turn down loads. I'm not complaining, but I just needed to get home. I'm going back to the 3 weeks on and 1 week off thing until that runs dry.

I am good...993 miles already and it is only Monday....
at least your busy...I've been waiting for a load at #1 side yesterday, so I jumped ship and beat feet over to the Chicago board just now. Well, at least with 14 loads a day they should have something for me by the end of the week. I'm #12 so we'll see...............no beeps yet

Sorry I didn't respond to alot of your posts. My wife needed me more, sorry to say. Her Father became very sick last Monday morning and we had to call EMS to take him to Lodi Hospital. It didnt look very good so they flew him to Akron. It was a very bad week for us as her Father passed away this past weekend. I hope you all understand, I wasn't trying to be rude.

Bruno, what can we fight about when your not posting anything negative?

Your right Steve. Sometimes in life you have to look at yourself and not others for the dumb things you do or say. You know what I'm talking about. I have come a long way from a year ago Steve. I'm sorry if I ever upset anyone or any company ever on here. I know I took somethings the wrong way on here a few times with Ateam, Phil I'm sorry for my actions if I upset you in any way. I'm going back to reading and not posting now.
