How does your truck/fleet owner rate?

I wuz not in any way minimizing the importance of on time pay. Wuz always my rule. However, itis a bit hard to be jealous of anyone as I type to you from Lahaina, Maui and being a winter Hawaiian. Like I always say if yer happy i'm tickled with yer "toy truck".
LMAO. You're in Hawaii reading the EO forum? Get a life! :D

Ahh yes. Jes trying to help the folks that don't know any better, git "a better life". After all ya can't spend all yer time on the beach (the beer evaporates too quick there) then I don't git my fair share. Jes trying to encourage folks to go with money making equipment and methods when they work, then they can go camping later.

I know, I know. And if yer happy, i'm tickled. But, I question the "if owners want us to stay out" thing. What is really wrong with "if WE want to stay out, we'd like the type of equipment to drive that would make it worthwhile".

Being able to carry 5 ton is minimal. When you can do 15 ton, then ya got some revenue.

If that is important in the grand scheme of things.

The best I can tell is we don't get paid by weight. We get paid by the mile and "special services". We get paid extra for refer, lift gate, pallet jack, etc. But, we have also gotten paid more to take a shoe box than we were to take a 10K load on a surface expedite load.

I say if you can get the creature comforts, all the better. :p

I would love to have the tall cabinets instead of the upper bunk. I've run out of space to store things. lol Our Webasto heater is under one of the side benches so it blows out near the floor which heats the whole sleeper in just a few minutes no matter cold it is outside. It is an awesome heater which uses very little fuel and the generator doesn't have to be running to use it.

The downside to the A/C unit is that the generator must be on to run it. We like to keep the generator on auto so that it only comes on when it's needed to recharge the batteries. That saves fuel. :)

OH NO inkasnana! You want the upper bunk, believe me I know! See, when the hubby starts getting mouthy (they all do, even the best of'em) you can relagate him to the top bunk. See, I don't have anywhere tp throw his blanket and pillows when I want to 'get my own way. Boy, does he take advantage of that. Ya know, that is the one thing I miss most about home. I can't toss him a pillow and blanket as blackmail. Yep a top bunk sure would come in handy as a blackmail tool. :D

Oh, see, now you've got me rethinking the whole situation!

We have a great owner!! Excellent equipment, on time pay, etc.
He provides us with one of "Col's" RV's ;)
If we were ever to buy our own truck we would go with a smaller sleeper, larger box, dual axles, Onan generator, rooftop A/C, wabasto heater, large refrigerator, micro convection oven, etc.
We do stay out for extended periods of time, so we would like some creature comforts, but, we would like to be able to haul extra weight if possible. That steerable axle sounds like an interesting idea.

well this is a good one>>>>> the Owner of THE PARTY TRUCK works for us. Yes it is true the owner can be reached 24/7 by phone, IM, E-mail what ever is best for the Team at the time.
WE know that she is always looking for the best location to pick up loads. She work with each truck and with Tri-State to lessen down time and keep loaded mile up. any time we have a problem she is on the phone to help us find a way to fix it.

i give Mindi(wingnut) a 150% for putting up with us in The Party Truck. Along with her trucker buddies, church, her hubby, and now starting a small farm (for short stock) and clowns:p we don't know how she has all the time for it all
