On occasions it is necessary to broker a backhaul out of even the so called service area due to high volume of trucks. Now with Panther there are 2 websites that you can get the login and passwords for through the backhaul division. One is getloaded.com and the other is theinternettruckstop.com Both have become very useful to us.
Now Panther receives 15% of the total brokered load.
Once you have decided to take a brokered load. You must first check the websites and make various calls that will pay what you need to move. You can depend on the backhaul dept but they will not call every one for you. And once you get info and it is still available call the Backhaul dept with Broker name and phone number. Also give them the load information you got ie, payment and to and from.
Then the backhaul dept will check their credit and take care of all the appropriate paperwork. Then you will get dispatched on that load.
(FYI, don't get upset if they will not let you book a certain backhaul. There are a lot of unreputable brokers out there.)
