how do u hook up double batteries????

ok i have a small inverter hooked to a deep cycle battery, but am wanting to run duel 12 volt batteries and a larger inverter for a electric heater or blanket etc etc..???? is how do i hook up two 12 volt batteries so it doesnt become 24 volts?? i have a one way solenoid so it cant drain my vehicle battery any info would be appreciated..thanks brian ohh yaa i drive a sprinter

Positive to positive negative to negative. This probably will not give you enough life to run an electric heater for very long. Those heaters draw alot of juice. You will probably only get2-3 hours of service.

You won't get enough heat unless you string together a half dozen or so batteries. Two batteries will probably give you plenty of run time for tv, radio etc. unless you are sitting somewhere all weekend long. Go to Espar of Michigan and get set up for heat. You'll be much happier in the long run.

I agree. I have a Wabastco heater and it works quite well. I think the Espar costs a little less and works a little better. I have three batteries and can run my heater, TV, DVD player, etc. for abot 12 hours without a charge.

Yup, pos to pos and neg to neg. There's a national chain of battery stores called Interstate that has all sorts of clamps, cables, batteries, etc. http://www.ibsa.com/estore/
Like Leo, I recommend an Espar heater. Mine is wonderful.

Ditto on the wiring -- neg to neg, pos to pos -- ground to ground, hot to hot -- black to black, red to red.
That's called parallel -- not series.
Take that from an old goat who once served -- almost a hundred years ago! (1965-66) -- as the Chief Engineer (the Engineer Officer) aboard a diesel-electric submarine.
Interstate is my first choice for automotive batteries -- for either a car or a big truck.

Do you remember the color code for the stripes on resistors?
In 2001 -- while thinning out our stuff before we went to the Mercy Ships -- I finally tossed my copy of the RCA tube-substitution manual.
I had bought it about 1959 -- while doing projects in lab courses in electronics -- while working on my physics major at Vanderbilt University.
Those were the old days!
Just last night I visited with a couple with whom I double-dated way back then.
We really hooted and hollered about some of the stuff back in the 1950s.

Hi Doc I sold a car once because I had Interstate battery in it. Person looking it over little reserved seen battery an said I'll take it. After deal closed I asked about this he said most people use a battery this good most likly takes care of things.
Terryandrene is this this Vodka , Beer thing a Navy thing or what??
