Homicidal fake cop in Mississippi. Be careful!

What kept you from a career in law enforcement; not meeting the minimum physical standards, failing the psychological evaluation, or both?

Never got that far in the process, though once they found I that I didn't believe I was a drill sergeant and the public were my recruits, I probably would have failed. Can't have a cop who believes in the Bill of Rights. That Tasca chick in New Jersey found that out the hard way.

The sad thing is I feel this is possibly a Leo currently. I didn't trust the cops when I lived down there and still don't. One guy was pulled over by the same car described and he was robbed by a guy in uniform during the same time the shootings were happening.

That was funny... I guess we should switch to armored vehicles and never ever open the doors when pulled over...

I don't see the humor in making fun of our police force...sure there are a few bad apples in every bunch.. they do a very hard job...bet you won't ridicule them when your in need of there services....

Police are looking for a gold Crown Victoria. Why aren't they looking for a white van, just like the one used in the Maryland sniper shootings?

Im suprised no one has answered on this one yet, so I will,

The only way a white van will work is if he has a creeper and is posing as DOT cop.

All joking aside this is a reminder of why we have to be careful.

You don't. Really?
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), The FBI, and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are the best at apprehending criminals. As a test, a rabbit is released into the forest and each group is tasked with catching it.

The CIA goes in.
They place animal informants throughout the forest.
They question all plant and mineral witnesses.
After three months of extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist.

The FBI goes in.
After two weeks with no leads they burn the forest, killing everything in it, including the rabbit, and they make no apologies. The rabbit had it coming.

The LAPD goes in.
They come out two hours later with a badly beaten bear.
The bear is yelling: "Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a rabbit!"

You can't see the humor in that?

Back in 2000, there was a fake cop in Oakland County, MI. He was pulling women over in the middle of the night and raping them. Usually on Sunday mornings when the roads were least travelled. At that time I was working 2nd shift in Troy, MI, Sundays through Thursdays, meaning I was alone on NB I-75 at 1 am.

My game plan was: if someone tried to pull me over, I would call 9-1-1. Tell them in light of recent events, I would not stop until they could confirm this was a real police officer or there was a verifiable cruiser sent.

Luckily, I never had to try that trick out.

I don't know how it would work in this situation, but I would try it if it happened.

They are encouraging that in this case as well. They are also saying not to stop until a well lit area and officers have been told to take it easy if they don't stop immediately.

Ive been told the same thing just make sure you put your hazards on just to let them know you know theyre there If they are a real cop the dispatcher will tell you. in most states Un marked cars are only used drrring daylight hours.

No, actually, there are few good apples. The bad ones make those few good ones look bad.

Also keep in mind that that's not the policy in all areas. People have gotten in trouble in some places by not stopping immediately.

I'd rather get in trouble and live to deal with it later, than stop right away and get killed.

At least you were able to get a job as a security guard, wear the duty belt with flashlight and keys. Lots of keys.

And the biggest flashlight around, one that just screams "surrender!"

Seriously, the reports are entirely "maybe", "possibly" "theorize" "suspect" and a whole lot of qualifiers, but nothing to back them up. I'm sure cops develop an instinct after awhile, but this is just waaaay overblown, IMO, with the media presenting it as a near certainty, when it's nowhere near that.

Don't forget the holster full of quarters so he could call the police from pay phone in case of emergency.

Mace and handcuffs? Cool!
Still not what I meant. Telling you details would only be bragging, but what I meant was we weren't regular industrial security that goes around checking locks. We were armed guards in section 8 housing complexes and dealt with real violence as much as locked doors.
