I found this interesting..... a family could depending on price save a whack of money over the term...

Methane Production Module 1:

Atlas is unfolding a home unit designed for use in rural settings or subdivisions for personal use. This home unit can provide all of the energy that is required to run an average household. The system will connect to the existing septic tank, a newly installed septic system or to the sewer line leaving the home. Material removed from the septic system goes through an Atlas Energy Technologies, Inc. Anerobic Digester and much of the waste material is converted into methane gas.

The average digestion rate is approximately 60% of the Total Volatile Solids (organic content) and are converted into methane gas. For every pound of digested TVS 25cuft of biogas is produced. the biogas will contain approximately 600 Btu per cu ft of gas.

Interesting system.

What is even better is the zillions of political jokes that are running around my head. This system provides much fertilizer for that type of humor! :D

You got that right! OR, how about a 'steam' system there? Just put the entire congress in their seats and keep them there. Let them debate, filibuster, rattle on what ever. Then flood the building till they are all waist deep. The steam cloud that would be produced when the cold water meets hot air could power the country for free! Non-polutting , unless the slimy water got out and an endlsee source.

It very well might be good. I do operate on a septic tank at home. Worth looking into. I would assume, not always a good thing, that it would be best for electricity production. Don't think it would work for gas stoves, etc. Not even sure if they produce an orifice. I know that the 'natural gas' we use comes from methane I know that it is 'refined' prior to receiving it at the house.

Iam thinking you'd have to produce enough, dare I say poop...to make the system pay for itself....LOL

second thought..It could work for you..:p..hehehee LOL

Yeah, it would if I were home more. I would have to 'import poop' now for it to be effective!

I wonder if only two people's worth of 'product' would be enough to fuel a system?

I have to think that this would would better on a community level or at least a larger family.
