I believe it was something that they could have done last week. Too much Def fluid being used and also Dpf building up Ash. All they done was updated the software and reprogram everything . A $315.00 bill yesterday. What was it?The van is fix for now and back in service. Hopefully it will last more than 250/300 miles before the check engine light comes on.
Have you gotten this recall yet?
Them's the brake lights: 10-to-13-year-old Daimler vans face recall | Today's Trucking
Wonder if they would automatically do the MAF recall if you brought it in for the above.
If you don't want the 'fix' then stay away from the dealers. This is a mandatory update to comply with epa and they will "fix' your van whether you want it or not.Yep, it's to update the ECU for the MAF sensor to get an engine light if it fails.
Stay away from the dealers? Does that mean I shouldn't get the update? Because, if I go to a Freightliner dealer on purpose, it will be to have the update done. I don't live near a Freightliner dealer, so it'll be one out on the road someplace, if I do it. As long as I don't have a fuel efficiency problem, and aren't running rough at idle, I wouldn't think the MAF sensor is failing or failed, anyway.
The letter also says it takes 3.3 hours to perform the work. Seriously? I can install Windows 10 on a fresh machine in a hour.
