Hino 338

Hey I was having trouble with my dpf on my 2014 Hino 338. I was wondering if you could assist me. My truck will not auto regenerate and needs a manual regen once and sometimes twice a day. Please any advice thank you

You may need to have the diesel partical filter cleaned...if they get too compacted with soot it will not burn off and be truly plugged.

Do not under any circumstances break the inside of that filter out trying to clean it because if your found to have broken out the filter it is a hugh fine from the dot.

The mechanic at the hino dealership quoted me $19k for repairs. They told me I need to replace the dpf and maybe the Scr.

I would look at if the filter can either be cleaned or changed first.....the injector does fail but they should have tested it and told you if it was bad.

There is almost certainly a burner problem. Burner and DPF health is tied directly to injector health. The injectors do not last forever.
