I'm sure our insurance company would have loved it if I was hauling a load south of the border.

Not sure, but it is hopping pretty darn good today. You are already a top 10 sitter. Only 5 total units in the fleet over 24 hours right now!

Well not quite yet LOL. But hopefully she will get one tonight too! Just came back in service this afternoon.

Hey - I completely forgot that I'd taken myself OUT of service, lol, after spending 5 days in service, with nothing. Not complaining, I decided to go to Florida [to see my granddaughters!] but I kind of forgot about the putting myself back in Hokey Pokey. I did accept an offer, but we didn't get it, so I'm still waiting.
I know: I'll start deciding what's for dinner - that usually works, lol. ;)

I got one thats kinda a over 24 hr sitter. had a 50 mile load last night.

Whoever said "the short ones are the biggest PITA loads" nailed it! At least 4 calls 'from the customer', beginning with " The customer wants to know why the truck didn't leave until 1740, when dispatched at 1640?"
I was so surprised [not to mention: driving], that I didn't even realize that 1640 is when I was first asked if I wanted the load. I only remember cause dispatch said " pickup @ 1800, you're 82 mi out" so I looked at the clock and said "I should have left 20 minutes ago!" She assured me there'd be plenty of time, then bumped it to 1830. She called to confirm it at 1650, then it was another 10 minutes before it came across on the QC. I sent a msg explaining I needed fuel, and got in line for that. [HOS means we often can't risk getting fuel until under dispatch. I probably had enough to cover the whole 150 miles, but it's when you think so that there's some delay that makes you look dumb for not having got it when you could have.]
The customer called again to ask for the load info as I was entering it in the QC, so I gave it verbally, finished entering it, and took off. They called 5 minutes later to ask for it again. They called halfway there to ask for a part number on the BOL. [Do they have any idea how many numbers are on a BOL?!] I said I would have to stop and look, I'd call back when I could, but I arrived at the consignee [about 15-20 miles] before I found anyplace to stop.
Well, except for the upside down 4 wheeler blocking US 52, but I was too busy figuring out how to get turned around to look at the BOL. Everyone else was Uturning, but there wasn't room for me to do it, and they kept coming up behind me because they couldn't see the blockage.
Longest 50 mile load ever, lol.

But other than that it went pretty smooth? LOL

Yep. Until I couldn't find the Aviation Services bldg at the very small airport, in the dark, lol. That part, we're used to - it was just the demanding calls from the customer [not the shipper/consignee, they were great] that made it tough.
Props to Neil for guiding me to the airfield [see what I did there?] because it was truly dark, and it never seems to occur to people that unlighted signs are often invisible at night.
BTW: the dinner trick didn't work, but tomorrow's another day, and I think I'll try the truck washing bait, lol. ;)
