We just came out of Quebec delivered about 300 miles north of Montreal. I would have to list that drive as one of our top 10. The scenery was just amazing and the roads where really pretty awesome. We delivered in a small town and not very much English spoke and we do not know any French. The guy we met had a lot of patiance and between him and Bob figured out how to unload our 3500lb back hoe bucket. No problems he was happy we where happy and we headed back to Montreal. No loads out of Montreal though for us so we are now in rainy Syracuse NY!

Pays right back we will go again! We are in this business to make money and not say no when the money is right to haul a load.

By the description, suspect you made your way through some lonely but well traveled road on your way to Val D'Or.

That same awesome stretch of road quickly becomes a real nightmare during the winter season... and is often temporarily closed due to conditions.

Big mining country up there... did you see the open pit on the edge of town? They moved the main road into town a few years back to make way for that.

Just a few more miles north is the smaller town of Malartic where there has been a huge gold find. It is expected about 200 homes will be moved to make way for that operation.

Miners have the same attitude as you, go where the riches are no matter what... even if most of the town has to be moved. LOL

We where north of that huge pit! We went to a small town called Saint Falicien on highway 155. I did imagine that in the winter there would be no way would I want on that road or the area! The trip, the roads and the people will stick in our minds for a long time though. I take you have been up in the area also!

And, if, you don't wanna this winter, then, probably, someone else'll get this winters backhoe,AND, next summers. Kinda works that way.
