Here we go again, houses for $1 down

It's nothing like it. Living within one's means is pretty easily determined: provide all necessities, some extras, and save some for future needs. Whatever your income, that's how it works. There is zero evidence to suggest any of those who lost their homes were 'living beyond their means', right? It's just the comforting mantra of the conservatives: 'they deserve it.'
"How much is too much" is not so simple - but it's pretty obvious when we see it. Corporations who move jobs overseas, pay no US taxes [but reap the benefits taxpayers provide], and take from rather than contribute to the community, are guilty of too much greed for our own good.

Why did they lose their homes then? I can pretty much guarantee you they were living beyond their means...The bank don't foreclose on you if your current on your mortgage.

If they lost their job. Its their responsibility to sell their assets to cover the costs. if they lost their job and they couldn't afford payments. Why wouldn't that be considered living on more then you make?

That is pretty black and white to me....

That has nothing to do with conservatives. its just common sense...

If that is the mantra for Conservatives. what is it for Liberals? My neighbor will take care of it?

lol

Yep here we go again..people making 9 bucks an hr in a 150k home....now that IMO is crazy...a potential disaster...but that is ok...the taxpayer will foot the bill if they don't make it.....AND what incentive is it to try harder, to make it, when you know the bailout is there?
Everywhere I pass by...between 4 & 6 pm the fast food places are packed...drive thrus backed up...are people cutting back? where? I must of missed it...

And since this IS the Soapbox....radical and silly statements (as judged by others) are all fair game....as long as I am civil about it....:p

Yep, it is TOTALLY crazy. Then, when they fail, people will make excuses for them. Those who work hard will have to have their wages taken from them and given to the banks to bail them out.

Great system. No better incentive to be a bum than the set up we have now.
