The really real reason is you won't be able to do the subtle cheats anymore.....:p

I don't do subtle cheats, because I don't do anything subtle, lol.
As Tom said, the problem is the inability to stop the 14 hr clock, as we used to, with the split sleeper. Detention at the shipper? No problem, driver took a nap, was refreshed & ready to drive when the load was done, everyone was happy. Only the shippers don't care that we can't do that anymore - they still leave us waiting to get loaded for hours, sometimes. It happened to me awhile ago, when I notified dispatch that I couldn't deliver direct legally, they "consulted with the customer", and made me crossdock it halfway - I lost half the revenue!
When the sleeper berth was changed almost 10 years ago, drivers by the thousands told FMCSA it was wrongheaded, just as they have with the restart rule, but nothing has changed, and you know why? Because it didn't affect the carriers, and they didn't go to court or their government reps to get it changed, like they did with the restart rule.
It's just one more example of how people who make rules about working ignore the people who actually do the work, and it makes me mad. Especially when it costs me money, because this is my livelihood, and it matters to me.
Sorry - everyone can go back to the 'banter' now.

I agree with most of what you are saying. But we were totally against the elimination of the split sleeper berth as it took away a lot of flexibility in our regional truckload operation. I think any company with company trucks was not fond of the change at all.

Agreed.....that was the most damaging change to the whole system in recent years...

How to unload cargo with no forklift. Stand on side of street and flag down a rollback. They had a lift, but no way to get the load off with it.

Are we having any issues with Fleetvision updating or our system, or is it just my one unit that has a problem. We have a unit that is OOS that is showing in service but has a satellite message requesting OOS. Also sent a pod that dispatch replied they never got. Just checking !!

I am not aware of any issues. Might want to call Matt K with the unit number to check this am.

Will do, seemed kinda funny that it was just one unit and not all of them. I will get a hold of her then Matt and get it figured out. Thanks, have a good day !!!!

sometimes I have to scan up side down because the shipper likes to staple the paperwork. Seems innocent until you try and pull it apart and it rips the paper and it keeps catching on the scanner. Now, if by upside down, you mean turned over on the back side...well then I can't help you there. ..lol.

I am not sure, but let me find out. Number one biggest scanning issue, wrong load number hands down. That and people put the paperwork thru upside down, lol.

No, I meant they scan the wrong side of the paperwork, the blank side.
