And I am VERY happy to say just got a letter from the FMCSA saying this family has a "SATISFACTORY" rating again!!!!! :D

Kind of reminds me of a QS9000 audit....someone put the staples in the wrong position and until they were returned to their proper spot....it too was hinky like CSA

Now that the rating has changed, we shouldn't see any more Load 1 trucks sitting. :D

It does stink but it isn't like everyone isn't trying. Week before shut down so freight is thin northbound.

We all know Laredo is pretty much the biggest gamble in expedite. :(

It's been really really hot down here the last 8 days but take a look at the forecast for the next 5 days, it's gonna get worse. Can't get a hotel because I've had 1 load in two weeks. Waited all day for some one from the office to call me back and help me figure out what my best options are at this point, but no one ever called back. I can't do things this way! On a different note, that's good news about our score. Hope it helps stop things like this from happening to our drivers in the future. Ps frickin help!

I don't think our score had anything to do with the situation. Laredo is a tough town as you well know for freight. It is a complete guess for us to advise you to move or stay. The week before **** down makes it even more unpredictable. Laredo and it's pitfalls are known by everyone in expediting. If you are going to relocate you just need to let dispatch know. But we honestly don't have a lot of better advice down there. We are trying and we have paid layover and generated no revenue on your unit as well. So we have no upside in this situation either.

I've been lucky I guess because since 2006 Laredo has never let me down, not once.....until now! That's why I've never turned a Laredo load down. John you say it's a gamble, well I guess this gamblers luck ran out. Laredo got me this time. If it ever gets me again I hope it gets me in the winter time. 100+ temps for 8 days will make a man crazy, seriously!

Laredo is the greatest hit or miss I our business. You read all about it all over EO. Some love it and the gamble some will never go there, some move empty out of there right away. The right answer? You got me. Honestly everyone has a different system or answer to that question. I don't have the solution but we won't quit trying.

This week freight hasn't been tuff in Laredo, just getting freight in my truck has been tuff for what ever the reason may be. The reason isn't the part of the business that I try to concern myself with. I'm concerned with putting myself in the best position I can for load1 and myself to get freight in my truck and get it delivered safely and on time. I've done that. That part is my job. I'm the one who's down here, Laredo has been Rockin this week.

Were just to guys talkin John. I care about load1 and load1's future. I also care if I'm able to support my family. Maybe we need a sales person down here some times or maybe you've done that already, idk. That's for people smarter than me to figure out I guess, I'm just a dumb driver.

Laredo is tough. We have sales people go down there and visit customers and work the area. But most if the freight (including most of our customers) are not actually controlled down there. Biggest problem with van freight is a few of the other expedite companies that bid really cheap and put a couple loads in a straight truck or grab a bunch and put on them in a tractor trailer. The other problem is the air freight rates can often times beat the van rate.

I think of load1 as a family and I'm proud to be part of that family and as long as there's load1 stickers on my truck I will always have load1's back. Maybe it's 8 days of 100+ heat talkin but i need someone to promise me that load1 has mine.

Would the CEO of any other carrier be answering? We can't control a lot of things but I have your back to the full ability of what we can control. I promise.

No he wouldn't John. It's things like that that make people wanna work at load1. But sometimes when a person waits all day for some one to call them back it's easy to start wondering if any one cares about your situation. Only someone in that type of situation can understand. So there's nothin wrong with a little reassurance from your company at that point.
