As a child I remember my Uncle Gene taking some serious heat from other family members for being a Cubs fan. Growing up n the St Louis Metro East area, most eveyone suppproted the Cardinals. Year after year by the time July rolled around my sympathies for Uncle Gene grew more intense. But as I got older I realized not only was he a Cubs fan, he was a man made of honesty and he truly stood by what he believed in even if he didn't share his beliefs with others. This made a lifelong impression on me and one that I have hopefully passed on to my children.

Now, as for the Cubs....this just might be their year. And, if it isn't, wait till next year. Because that's what I believe. My true desire is that the would at least win the series in my lifetime because Uncle Gene is already gone. I'd love to tell him when I se him.

Fedex Freight are contractors just as Fedex CC are. He may have been running a smaller linehaul for the LTL division. Basically, it's just whatever truck the owner brings to the table.
Fed Ex freight has straight trucks as well as big trucks.
Have you seen the Day Cab Fed Ex Custom Critical truck
that Fed Ex will tell you doesn't exist yet. I have seen
several of these. One at the LG in Romelus MI one at
LG in Atlanta Ga and 1 the other day in Memphis on the road.

I saw a day cad tractor for CC sitting in front of Ryder in Orlando at one time. It was probably supplied just to move around trailer drops.

No these were daycab straight trucks. Small cabs with C & D
unit bodies attached. I personally talked to the guy in
Atlanta LG and he said all you have to do is ask to run one.. but the company told me they didn't exist.. if you know what I mean.

The FedEx CC day cabs are local/regional drivers only. I ran into a bunch of them in Romeoville last year and they only take loads to the drop and head right back home.

That is right.. but Fed said there is no such thing as local
drivers.. I asked about the LG runs out of Atlanta.

FedEx Freight are company drivers. It says so on FedEx's website.

Express,Freight and Trade Networks are employees of FedEx.
Custom Critical,Ground/HD are contractors. Ground linehaul is also cotnractors.

Yeah, I know. I saw one in the Fedex photo at Kinkos, but I just figured it was Photoshopped. Fedex has never really marketed CC in any of their ads. As far as day cabs go, the name of the game is supplying what your customer needs, when he needs it. If LG has an account with CC and needs a couple of vehicles for local delievery or dedicated routes, you betcha CC will come up with whatever is required.

Well IRT, go change. Save you pennies, start collecting bottles and when you hit michigan, go get some of that good deposit money, start looking for a $15k tractor and change to an owner.

Look I meant not day cab tractors, I mean small c and d units without sleepers. Sorry, should have been more clear.

FedEx may not admit to them, but so what. They say there is no favoritism, there is no dispatching around people, there is only fairness and harmony, so I would not expect them to admit to something to p*ss off CC contractors. AND yes these are CC contractors.

By the way, there are freight contractors who fill in. Trade networks use contractors in their customs office and supply chain (*wg equals) are contractors. I thought most of Express people in the trenches are contractors.
